The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

E.H. Scott Historical Society - Scott News

I had to ask a friend to do me favor and make a copy of a paper published in Scott News in 1994.  This "new" Scott News were published in 1990's.  I wonder whether the issues of "Scott News" have been scanned and saved somewhere.  My internet searches were futile.  Thanks, Jiri

Michael - The original doc files are not compatible and don't have images, long story but the last of these was done in 1999 on Word 2.0. I have several sets of the originals, I just haven't had time to scan them. I'll try to get to it soon.

Actually, if the PDF and DOC files exist, these could be easily uploaded to the net as is, or better, the DOC files converted to PDF and all uploaded in that format since that seems to be more of a standard these days. This would keep the size of the files uploaded down, and also would not require any scanning, just uploading as is.  Perhaps this site could find a place in the "archives" section to put these files, so those interested could DL them when they wanted them. Worth asking the admins here about it.

Kent- Many thanks for your kind offer but I already have a copy of the article I needed.  Sorry for the delayed response, I have been traveling for the last seven weeks.  Kind Regards, Jiri

Well, yes, the EHSHS Scott News are still within the timeframe of the copyright, but as long as the reproduction does not occur for financial gain, we would not pursue it. I say "we", but I am the keeper of all the original materials at this point. I still have copies of most of the issues (we did run out of a few), if anyone is interested in some of those back issues, please let me know.

I'll consider scanning them in. I actually have the original doc/pdf files used for printing from years ago. Those are hard to use, it would be cleaner to just scan the old documents.

I would guess they are still under copyright protection.
