The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

I just purchased a Scott SLRM. I found all the tubes on the right side were not working. After doing some reading I found that any tube with an open filament caused the entire string of tubes to not light up. It's been a long time since I fiddled with Tube type electronics and didn't realized that sometimes tube filaments are connected in series. Anyway I found the tuning tube, 1629, had an open filament and have one ordered off of Ebay. I feel fortunate that it came with the antenna plug and power plug. Looking forward to getting it up and running soon. Would love to hear from others who have had experiences with the SLRM.

Since that tube is a “magic eye” tube perhaps the open circuit is in the umbilical wiring which links the tube to all else?

I thought about that but checking the filament with an ohmmeter shows it to be open. Will see when the new tube gets here.
