The Fine Things are Always Hand Made
Hi my name is Paul, and I am working on behalf of a widow to a collector. I have a few Scott sets that I have begun to photograph, and getting ready to sell. The only problem is, the information about these radios is somewhat difficult to find. I have the serial numbers for the sets, they are as follows:
F-395
HH-321
GG-340
JJ-31
EE-401
Any information on these models would be great. The wood cabinets are in good condition. I was told at one time all the units worked. They unfortunately have not been turned on in at least over one year. And I do not know enough about them to want to try and do any kid of testing myself.
Like I said, any information would great.
Thanks!

Does anyone know what happened to Paul? I wrote him expressing interest in one or all of the five Scotts and asked for more photos, especially insides. He said he sent them, I never received any. I asked him about them two more times (even offered to see them in person since the drive is do-able) and have not heard back in days! Did he really want to sell them??
Any sale of these radios will have to be approved by the widow that Paul is assisting. Her husband passed away recently so she may be preoccupied at this time.

Thanks for replying Norman. That's fine, and I understand that, but not getting pix he said went out is the "puzzlement" as Yul Brynner said in "The King and I". All I needed was an answer. Being ignored was not fair to me---especially since I'm contemplating a very large package of sets and have limited funds. If anyone hears anything I'd appreciate being told.
Sam, I was answering your second question, not your first question or statements.

Didn't mean to come off as critical--it's more of a time issue/pressure for me at this point. I think you can understand as a collector. I only want to seek out the best he can for his display with also the goal of upgrading, which is why I can't keep everything I buy. Not to mention the taxed nerves of my wife, lol. Are you still interested in the Scott FM tuner? Does that pick up current FM stations?
Yes, I am still interested and awaiting a decision. No, the prewar FM tuner does not pick up current stations and it cannot be reasonably modified to do so.

Hi Norman,
I hope you got the tuner. I guess someone else got the second set. His remaining three sets went on ebay. The Philharmonic went for a good price on ebay. It has an original turntable which is probably why it ended at $2,500.00.
What concerned me, though, is why the two Braemers (one a Phantom) didn't get any bids at a starting price of only $400.00? Wonder why?
