800B in an amazing cabinet - Chicago area

Gentlemen - Jim Clark told me about this one today and I wanted to pass it on....maybe somebody up that way can pick this up. It is a VERY interesting custom cabinet. Later phono, but overall looks pretty nice. You'll need some space for this one:

This has been on Ebay for several weeks with a $5k asking bid.

Ironically, I am looking for one of those Scott 800B pop up TV's in the blonde cabinet that sits on top of the 800B Modern cabinet if anyone has one or knows of one.I plan to pick up my newly acquired Modern 800B next week.

I was wrong-it was in this ARF thread started by Art B not on ebay and one of the posters mentioned a $5k price but all i see is a OBO in the post.

Perhaps it can be gotten for about $1/lb, still a princely sum.

Indeed, quite some space is needed.

Was the front panel of the receiver painted to match the color of the cabinet?

Leonid - Yes, even the wood surround on the tuner chassis is the cream/white color. This was true in any of the blond cabinets.
