Scott Model M-12 "Stereo Speaker System" - Annapolis

I'm really having a hard time finding much info on this speakers set.  I'm not even sure if it is in its original case.  I will take better photos when I get it inside my house.

I'm guessing its what I see referred online as the directional (pre-Bose) speakers.

Scott Model M-12 Stereo Speaker System - Annapolis

Scott Radio Laboratories - Annapolis Electroaccoustic Corp.

I've figured out the the transfer of companies from EH Scott, John Meck, Annapolis to Ravenswood.

I'm assuming this was made before the Ravenswood name change..

Does anyone have more info on is speaker set?

Original brochure photos, specs?

Did it come with a radio, stereo or sold separately?

Thanks,

We really don't know a lot about how Annapolis sold Scott items. These probably date from 1958-1960, the time following the bankruptcy sale and before the final H. H. Scott legal action. I can tell you that the company relabeled purchased gear, they had no manufacturing facilities following the asset sale in the fall of 1956. I believe, looking at advertisements of the period, that many of these items were sold via mail order, or perhaps in a few locations in the eastern US (Liberty Music stores did carry the Scott line for a time). I can't tell from you pictures if these were standalone or part of a set that was taken apart.

They are neat, but unfortunately, probably won't have a huge following or interest. I've got a couple receivers from this era, they are nothing special. Might be neat to have a speaker set for one of them, but I wouldn't give a lot for it....

Thanks for the reply.

Any idea of what kind of drivers would be inside.

I think the cabinet/case may be glued closed.  I haven't tried to take it apart yet.

I think the early directional concept is kind of cool.
