I am finishing the restoration of this Allwave 23. I need a replacement detent cup and spring that goes under the coil wheel. I am sure both cups were there, but can only find one set. If any one has these parts, let me know.
Thanks, Thom.
Thom, I can help on those...message me on my email: kent3256@hotmail.com

New part request for J497 rebuild. Does anyone have a spare dial indicator wire? In trying to straighten it, it snapped. I will try to make one from spring wire, but wonder if anyone has one to sell. Also if anyone can provide the dimension from chassis to the wire cross bar, that would be appreciated.
Thanks
Thom.
I'll check...I may have one. They are more fragile than you might expect.

Update on J497. After a couple years of on off work and a total rebuild with all new caps and resistors, I am happy to report that this radio has come back to life. Now for some tweeks with alignment tools to get it properly adjusted. I also need to find a tuning meter, since the original may not be repairable.
Thanks to all who provided parts and info for this set.
hi Thomas, I have a scott allwave 23 speaker(needs recone) and a scott allwave 23 amplifier chassis. I am looking to sell these. I had intended to build an allwave 23 from the bottom up so to speak, but I have too many unfinished projects. I don't know if there is the ability to send personal messages here, If you are interested, send me your email address
thanks
bruce
Thomas - Re: your AW-23 tuning meter, check for a broken wire. The coil wire is very small gage and vulnerable to corrosion where the ends are soldered to the the junction for the heavier hook up wires. I have had to make that very repair to a meter to restore operation.
If you cannot make a repair, Let me know - I probably have one from a junker chassis.
