E.H. Scott Power Amp Supply Chassis - NEED HELP w/ ID

I picked up a E.H. Scott 800B Radio and it came with this amp. After doing some research I discovered this amp is not for the E.H. Scott 800B Radio. It appears to be off a E.H. Scott Philharmonic. I attached some photos below, I kindly ask for anyone's input and information as I am not very knowledgeable in this subject.

It is not from a Philharmonic but rather from a Laureate.   It will not work with your 800B.

Yes - from the Scott Laureate of 1941. Is strictly a power supply. No output tubes like a Philharmonic or 800B would include.

The Scott 800B amp/power supply looks like this:

eBay item number:
185420246538
It also contains the IF amp for FM section of the radio.
Also you need the correct speaker, often a 15 inch co-axial by Jensen in a dark teal color.
The radio is wired with house voltage traveling through a jumper on the speaker plug to the receiver and back to the power supply. So you need amp and speaker to power up the receiver.

Thank you David & Scott for your replies. There was another Scott Radio at the sale and I wonder if the power supplies got switched up. Thank you for finding one on eBay, that one is a reasonable price. I might decide to keep the 800B. On the other hand, I am probably going to sell this power supply and find someone who could use it. Have a nice day!

A mis-match of power supplies to correct receiver is quite possible due to seller lack of knowledge.

The eBay amp I mentioned for 800B has decent chrome and the tubes. So upwards of maybe $300 is reasonable. The other one on eBay has a ridiculous price over $1K by many $100s.

Your power supply is unique to the Scott Laureate, which was a low production model offered for only a few months due to WW2 intervening. Maybe someone with a corroded PS may be interested.

Any chance you can contact the other buyer for possible exchange?

FYI -on the 800B speaker. it will have a Jones plug and a field coil (or later, a power resistor inside the rear cover) at part of the power supply. With careful study of the complicated diagram, you can use another PM speaker as long as you incorporate a power resistor needed for the high voltage circuit.

If you have not already purchased an 800B power supply, I have one and will sell it <very> cheap....PM me...Kent
