EH Scott Radio Enthusiasts

The Fine Things are Always Hand Made

In 2011 I had some conversation in reference to the 3 Scott radios I inherited from my Husband's collection,  and have not been able to attend to the sale of them, due to procrastination.

I have a Philharmonic high end 30(?) Tubes in perfect condition, in a beautiful cabinet, and another not quite as desirable ( less tubes) with a good looking cabinet and a third one  about the same as the second.  For shipping them from NH to OR with his household goods,  my husband very carefully took them apart packaging the beautiful chrome inside separate from speaker and parts.  The have not been assembled.  They ( all 3)  were totally functional and have been sitting in my Living Room since they arrived.

They are for sale .  I just don't know how.  If you are in the neighborhood,  maybe you are interested in buying them ? Send me an email and we will make some arrangements.  I will also be happy to send you more information, pictures etc.

I wondered what ever happened after your earlier posts. I have sent an email about photos.

Glad you are OK.

Clara,
Thank you for posting on the SCott website.
Please post photos of the cabinet and close up of the dials. And if you are able, one photo from the back showing the receiver, amplifier and the speaker(s) of each radio. From them, we can be rather specific what you have.

I am working on trying to gather that information ,  and will share it with you all. IS there anyone in the neighborhood?  In Portland, OR.

Hi Clara-A lot of us collectors use special antique moving companies who will come to your house, pick up and blanket wrap the radios and ship them across the country. All you have to do is be there, open up the door for them and show them where the radios are. Easy Peasy.

Pics please...  :-)

Can you give me the name of these antique shipping companies?

And yes I am working on getting my kids to line up the radios and figure out how to post pictures.

I am glad I found the reference to this group again.

Clara

These  pictures are  of the best Scott Console, a 30 tube Philharmonic, in a Warrington(?) cabinet.  Taken before shipment to OR, and before my husband packed it up .  I hope the pictures come through.

An add written previously (2011 when I was more involved in this issues) follows:

"I still have  3 EH.Scott radio consoles.  One is a 30 tube Philharmonic, "Museum Quality", all original, console. The two others are smaller and less prestigious! Nevertheless they are Scott console radios and therefore rare and good.  They were all functional, with the sweet sound of huge speakers, and great reception.  However, my hubby took them apart and packed them very carefully, to move them from NH to OR. It has never been reassembled, but all parts are carefully packaged and available. If interested, please let me know. "

Hi Clara,

Is the photograph of Mr. Scott also for sale?

Cheers,

John Meredith

Are you interested in buying the photograph?? I might be able to include it in the sale, if I can find it.

Hi Clara,

Sure, I am interested in the photo. But first is it a real photo or a copy?

Let me know if you find it.

Cheers,

John

It is a copy!

Clara,

Plycon is a shipping company I have used.  They come to your house, blanket wrap the console (you need to ask for it), and ship it to it's destination.  Much like a furniture moving company.  Figure $600 to $800 to get it anywhere in the continental US.
