Scott serial numbers

As most of you know, I've been gathering and analyzing Scott serial numbers for over 20 years. I have a couple requests....first, if you haven't sent me your serial numbers, please do. Also...if any of you have a confirmed date for a set/serial number, please send me that. There is a warranty tag on ebay at the moment, these are great, since they have the date and serial number on them. A letter with a date is also good confirmation. I would greatly appreciate any info you fellows can provide. I'll post more about serial numbers here in the future.

I just bought an Allwave 16, in an Acousticraft cabinet. The serial number is EE-75

Hi Kent,

Do you keep track of when numbers were submitted, or by whom? I suspect that this radio was part of a large collection, that was auctioned off a number of years ago, after the owner lost the collection in a divorce. The collection was then stored at the wife's father's farm, and was disposed of as part of his estate, when he passed away. If I had a rough date, it will most likely confirm my suspicions.

I have just picked up my first Scott radio so I’m new to this and wondering if you might be able to help me gain info on what exactly I have? I see no name on it. Just the E. H. Scott tag. The serial number is CC355. This model is a monster! Weighs a ton! Any help you can provide to me would be greatly appreciated!

You have a 20 tube Scott PHANTOM. The first version had 19 tubes and lacked the knob below the tuning knob. The vernier feature (curved window above the dial) indicates a 1940 or 1941 model which should have a later amplifier with 6L6 output tubes.

Your cabinet is the WARRINGTON. (several other exclusive Scott cabinets were also available as well).

You can go to the archives section (top of this website page) and then select set folders.

You will find technical information and the owners manual, which will explain all those controls.

Yours does not have an FM band (which is just as well, as the prewar bands is obsolete)

I do not keep information about past ownership. While it would be very useful, some folks are reluctant to share data if they think they will be "connected" to it...so I only keep serial numbers and "hard" manufacturing dates such as a company letter of purchase or the warranty tag that accompanied each set.

Very nice...that is a new serial number for the list, glad to get it. I only have a much earlier date in the CC prefix, so I can't be more precise on the date than Dave has already indicated.

Hello-

My recently acquired Allwave 23 in a Warrington cabinet (questions posted in another thread) is S/N "Y 536".  Picture attached.

My radio also came with an original slip for S/N "S 580", dated Sept 11, 1936.  Original purchaser "LLOYD BOLTON".  I do not have this radio, only the paper.  Picture attached.

Hope this information is helpful.  Any idea on when Y 536 was produced?
