WOW! A couple of those went for quite a bit more than I would have expected...but then condition and two buyers that want it...

I was there, I got quite a few things in the early auction. There were a lot of Scott parts/chassis in that sale too. Generally, the items in the main auction were solid prices, a few things went low, a few high, overall a good auction. Now I am off to find places to put all the things I got.

Scott Philharmonic FM version Wellington cabinet

This was actually a Gothic Grand cabinet?

Yep ... good catch!

first glance the two seem much the same. same general design and details.

But the Gothic Grand not only has doors, but is upsized a bit and accommodates the taller Philharmonic receiver.

Does anyone have a link to that auction, with the pictures?  I looked around for them, on the ol' interwebs, and couldn't find them.

Some good deals there, of course depending on the condition of each item.

Here's the link to the Estes auction: https://www.auctionzip.com/auction-cata ... C214008A68

I only recognized it because I have one.  I was going to sell it and then decided i like it to much and changed my mind.  The price realized on that one has me considering the option again.   I'm hardly wealthy and that is a pretty good amount of money.   if anyone knows who the backup bidder was have them contact me.

The backup bidder was sitting in the room and I did not recognize him. The set went to an online bidder. Feel free to post pictures and information here with a "for sale" ad if you wish. I suggest leaving a price off it and talk to anyone who expresses interest. This has worked fairly well for a few past sellers.

The item labeled Scott Improved Shield Grid - $227 was not a Scott radio.

It was a Silver Marshall Improved Shielded Laboratory Receiver 440SG. 8-tube battery super, hammer $275.

Considering a Silver Marshall 720 DC (6-tube TRF) just sold on eBay today for $263, that was a good deal.

Yep, saw that.  I thought it was rather unlike Cledis Estes/Bob White to mis-label something.  Those guys are experts.
