"I absolutely recap the chassis before powering it up. I do pull the amp tubes and power the amp with a Variac to check the power transformer is OK. And with the remote control set, check the 24 volt step down transformer that should be on a the amp…"

"You are complete. Appears the gear was moved - to allow the vol control to move easier - probably due to lost keypad. First be sure the volume control motor will run. With a Variac, test with 24 volts AC. Ground to chassis. Touch probe to the two…"

"The cap box is potted with pitch, after cutting the bottom open the contents can be dug out, it's fairly easy as it's mostly paper capacitors, if you are really fussy you can remove the pitch remnants with wd40 and a final rinse with…"
