Missing Cabinets

In our Scott Info Archive (link above), there is a folder for Cabinets. These are all images of cabinets presently in collections. I have added a new folder in the Cabinets area - Missing Cabinets. These are all Scott advertised cabinets for which we have no modern photo - meaning they may not be in ANY collection. I'd like to know if anyone has one of the Missing Cabinets, and if you could share photos of these very scarce cabinets.Anyone?See More

"Mark - You really don't need the 450v supply for the Super 10. I run mine on a supply that provides up to 135v, and it works very nicely. You may not need to bias the grid on the 10 quite as much with a lower plate voltage. An RCA tube manual…"

"Mark - Well, the 100A speaker will work well with the Super 10 and the type 10 output tube (10/210/310 are all the same). In fact, this is the high impedance speaker type Dave refers to (cone speakers). These speakers are generally not terribly…"

Scott Buildings in Chicago

I am in Chicago this weekend for the ARCI meet and presenting on Scott. Whenever I am in Chicago, I try to visit the old building at 4450 N Ravenswood Ave. On this trip, I also wanted to find the 3 sites used during (and after) WW2. 4525 N Ravenswood became the "civilian" offices for Scott during the war, and this small building still stands. 4541 is a larger building, known as "Factory #2" during the war. After the war and Scott's departure, 4541 became the main building until they moved to…See More

I have no way to ship this, but I will be at Kutztown next month and can easily deliver it there. I am also planning to attend the ARCI meet in Chicago in Aug, I can bring it there too. Hi Mr. King-  I trust you have seen many of the customer cabinets that EH Scott customers commissioned in the 1930.  I a trying to identify if this cabinet originally has EH Scott electronics installed in it.  If not, any ideas?

 Thanks you, Bill Whelan

Kent;

I hope this attachment works. I finished the composite figures 26 and 30 for the Late version 800B. I found this helpful in tracing out the electric tuning arrangement of the 800B receivers.

JoeIf this turns out to not be satisfactory resolution and detail, let me know and I will try sending the *.pdf file which is 5.3MB.

Kent;

I took a closer look at the Late 800B parts radio tuner chassis that I have. It is SN 6182 and I found its final test stamp inside the preset tuning assembly backplate and the date is Jan 15, 1947. So that one can be added to your database.

I took the time to take a good photo of the Late version 800B AM SW RF compartment underneath. This unit has never had any parts replaced in that area, so this part of it is unmolested. I had just noticed that the Early version SN 1035 that I have had already been worked on and there were some changes to bypass capacitor placement that I do not agree with. My intent is to put it back as close to original lead dress and parts placement as possible. Sometimes changes in part placement and lead dress can cause significant problems to develop and result in inability to properly align RF circuits.

Yes I am willing to contribute these for fellow members and others use. I enjoy doing this type of work. I was originally in product documentation at Collins Radio which included doing schematics.

That's great...when you get them done, I will post them in the archive if you are willing. All such work helps everyone here. That is what this forum is all about!
