Scott serial numbers

As most of you know, I've been gathering and analyzing Scott serial numbers for over 20 years. I have a couple requests....first, if you haven't sent me your serial numbers, please do. Also...if any of you have a confirmed date for a set/serial number, please send me that. There is a warranty tag on ebay at the moment, these are great, since they have the date and serial number on them. A letter with a date is also good confirmation. I would greatly appreciate any info you fellows can provide. I'll post more about serial numbers here in the future.

Well, it's been almost 10 years since my last posting here on EH Scott. Basically, I've been hanging around ARF but occasionally lurk around here. I've acquired a number of Scott radios that I don't think you have any info on, as far as serial numbers are concerned, so here they are.

AA-216...1937 Scott Philharmonic with the standard pointer dial and in the Warrington cabinet. Acquired from the Ed Taylor auction this spring. The cabinet is 100% excellent, dial mint, and the chrome 99% excellent. It was originally owned by Edward H. and Augusta R. Knight, 3110 N. Pennsylvania St. Indianapolis, Ind. He was a lawyer in downtown Indianapolis. The set was purchased on Oct. 30, 1937. It's currently under total restoration.

E-671...1937 Scott Philharmonic with original factory issued front panel which is held in place by three chrome plated brackets. Standard dial is mint. Chrome is maybe 90% mint. It was acquired two months ago from a rural Estate sale in New Palestine, Indiana. Currently under total restoration.

L-140...1933 Scott AW-12 Deluxe in the Napier cabinet. Set has dual speakers. Acquired in 2022 from an Estis auction. Mint original condition.

H-70...1933 Scott AW-12 in the Napier cabinet. Set has dual speakers. Nice original condition but has some chips along the corner feet. It was acquired two months ago from a rural Estate sale in New Palestine, Indiana.

Hope this helps out in your never-ending quest for Scott serial numbers.

Thanks for those! Oddly, I had the one that seemed the most remote - H-70. The others were new, and AA-216 is the 3rd in a series (I had AA-214, 215 and now 216, too).

The reason you already have the H-70 in your records is because that's the one that actually came from the Estis auction. That's the one in mint condition. The L-140 is the one that came out of the New Palestine estate sale. That's the one with the chips on the corner feet. I got the two mixed up.

Here is the Sn# D-426
it's a 1934 AW-15 Wunderlich set, with the dual antenna switch,3 antenna post (1 blk/2 red).
apparently unopened, riveted.
No other switches on rear just a hole in chassis for bfo adj.

 New member here.

I have three EH Scott radios and wanted to get you serial numbers for your database.

1) EH Scott Philharmonic ( 7 knob Gothic Grand cabinet )...serial number on chassis plate is AA 53.

* Has Garrard R.C.4 turntable.

2) EH Scott Philharmonic ( Warrington cabinet )...serial number on chassis plate is AA 230.

3) EH Scott Model 16 ( Acousticraft cabinet...round dial )...serial number on chassis plate is NN 65.

I have two Scott Philharmonic Pointer Dial from 1937.

One has serial no.: LL-34 and the other F-786.

If you can find any information on those mumbers I would be most grateful.

Also, the one with no. LL-34, I think it is an early 1937. It has a large brown wire wound resistor mounted at one of the corners on the bottom side of the tuner. 

I need a circuit diagram for this tuner but I can't find it in the archive at this site.

Do you have a circuit diagram for this model that you can mail me ?

I also need a component list which specify the values of all the capacitors and resistors.

It usually is stated on the circuit diagram.

Thanks.  In the AA sequence by 235 they became beam of light sets.  I have been tracking what version of the Philharmonic goes with each serial number.   In some prefix sequences it goes backwards so you can't even get a definitive timeline.

Stephan,

The F prefix would be an early serial number, The LL is almost certainly a later 1937 or early 1938 set.  The early dial pointers had a different serial number plate than the later ones.  It is not as tall and had a single letter prefix.  Kent might have more info on your sets.
