Scott shipping totals

Is there any information source out there detailing E.H. Scott shipping totals for specific models? I know these radios are somewhat rare, but I would be interested to know just how many of them were built.

The list starts from highest number made and ends the smallest. I am not sure it is correct. Would be nice to have comments and corrections:

I think the Philharmonic was 3000 units. 

The total of the "chrome era" should be 25000 units.

OK folks....based on serial numbers, we get the following production estimates. These don't total exactly 25000, but we know that serial numbers are missing, so these numbers are probably a little low. It also doesn't include any special sets. Anyway, these are pretty close, and also track known sets pretty closely (by % of existing sets).

recently aquired 800B (tuner, amplifier, speaker, no cabinet). Waiting to be shipped. My friend bought 16A - tuner and amplifier and missed the speaker.

It is interesting to me how many of these 800B's were sold.

 

Norm's 10,000 estimate matches what I had heard also. At $1195 or so retail, that was a ton of sales for the Scott company. They advertised the 800B heavily in magazine ads and I believe that the 800B was sold in finer music and Department stores vs mail-order for the pre-war sets. I suspect many of these were sold based on the pre-war sets' reputations.

 

I would be interested in a similiar sales breakdown of McMurdo-Silver sets of the 1930's. My estimate is he sold about 1/5 of the volume Scott sold or about 2 sets a day vs Scott's 10 per day on average, based on 2500 per year and 50 weeks per year for Scott.

McMurdos and interestingly Midwests of pre 1942 are very seldom seen for sale.
